26-year-old admits causing them to believe they were at risk of violence
A Laxey man has been handed a 12-month probation order after admitting causing police officers to believe they were at risk of unlawful violence.
Twenty-six-year-old Daniel Luke Maguire became abusive after being asked to leave a property on Bircham Avenue Close, in Ramsey, on 14 July.
Maguire, of Minorca Crescent, began shouting and swearing at officers who had been called to assist - threatening violence towards them and smashing a plant pot against a wall next to them.
He was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters where he said he couldn’t remember the incident due to the fact he’d mixed alcohol with medication.
During sentencing at Douglas Courthouse Maguire was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £125.
A charge of possession of an offensive weapon was withdrawn.
