Council leader warns over delays
If the current plans to revamp Douglas promenade aren't approved soon there's a chance it could be years before anything is done.
That's the view of Douglas Council Leader David Christian.
The Department of Infratsructure announced its final bluprints to redevelop the area last week after consulting various user groups.
Changes were made to improve blind access, create extra space on the walkway and increase the number of pedestrian crossings.
Mr Christian says although there'll never be one hundred per cent support of the plans - work needs to start soon:
Taxi fares on the Island to rise
Weather causes changes to today's sailing schedule
Kewaigue closure in place this weekend for manhole replacement
New Captain of the Parish of Arbory appointed
