DOI say all options have been considered
Upcoming regeneration works on Douglas Promenade could have been done more quickly or for less money - but the project will strike the 'right balance'.
That's according to the Department of Infrastructure, ahead of preliminary roadworks beginning this Monday (17 September).
The project is set to cost around £20 million, and will be completed by 2021.
Concerns have been raised about the impact the plans will have on residents and motorists.
But Acting Infrastructure Minister, Tim Baker, says the options were carefully considered.
