The Isle of Man Government needs to do more for first time buyers.
That's according to Nick Cooper from the estate agents Black Grace Cowley.
He's welcoming the increase in grants now available following approval in Tynwald last week - but says to make a real difference people need to be able to buy more expensive properties.
Mr Cooper believes £250,000 is a more realistic figure - £100,000 more than the level available.
He also says those hoping to get onto the property ladder struggle even more because lenders see the Island as high-risk and low-margin.
Mr Cooper says an innovative approach could solve that problem.
