Trade union Prospect is describing a review of public sector headcount as 'negative' and is calling for more 'clarity' on what is being proposed.
Heads of government departments have been told to carry out the work while taking an up to 10-percent budget reduction into account.
Chief Minister Alfred Cannan insists it's 'merely an exercise' but has been careful not to confirm or deny if redundancies could be made as a result of the findings.
