Prospective home buyers urged to check new land registration fees

Some could save hundreds by waiting until September to complete purchase

New land registration fees coming in on 1 September could have a big impact on those purchasing a new home.

That's the warning from a local estate agent, urging those looking at properties to make sure they know how the changes could affect them.

Some will find waiting until the new fees are in place will save them money, while others will prove more expensive after the end of August.

Cowley Groves director Mark Canty says there could be big savings for those buying at the lower end of the market:
