Residents unhappy with work
A small informal protest, held in the centre of Peel yesterday over regeneration works in the old square, could be repeated, more formally, next weekend.
As part of the scheme, a sandstone wall has been replaced by what protestors are describing as dazzling white stone paving slabs, which they say detract from what is a conservation area.
Protestors said they wanted something done to lessen what they feel is an unattractive effect.
