Infrastructure Minister defends changes
A protest is being planned outside Tynwald tomorrow (21 July), over what have been described as 'dangerous and ridiculous' road changes in Douglas.
The creation of a bus lane on Glencrutchery Road has been the subject of criticism from drivers, who say it's causing backlogs of traffic into Onchan.
Infrastructure Minister Tim Baker has defended the changes, as the best way to divert heavy traffic from the promenade.
Taxi driver Mike Birchall, who's set to protest tomorrow, explains his biggest concerns:
Island's finances 'in a better position than most other jurisdictions'
Completion of assisted dying bill 'the most significant moment of 2025'
Keep dogs away from Garwick Beach for next few days
Cost of sending a letter on the Island to increase in January
