PSM by-election: Meet Jean Teare

She is hoping to improve the footfall in the town and support local businesses

A candidate in the upcoming Port St Mary by-election says there needs to be more support for the local businesses in the village. 

Jean Teare, who is standing for the vacant commissioners seat, would try to encourage more footfall and promotion of the facilities - including the beach. 

Residents can vote at Port St Mary Town Hall from 8am until 8pm on Thursday 18 April.

The other candidates standing in the by-election are James Helps and David Scott. 

Ms Teare says she would also like to try and lobby for better transport for residents.
