Trade union announces balloting members on industrial action
Trade Union Prospect has become the latest to announce they're balloting members on industrial action.
It comes after members voting heavily in favour of rejecting a five per cent government pay increase.
The union says they've submitted a claim themselves with supporting documentation.
Details of the claim are not known, but we're told the it 'reflects the consistent and significantly high inflation figures and cost of living crisis being experienced by members'.
Local Negotiations Officer Mick Hewer says: "Our members have worked tirelessly for months during difficult circumstances, and they continue to do so. They have endured endless attacks on their professional standing, it’s like open season when it comes to ‘the blame game and attacking our members in the press and on social media’."
Manx Radio has invited the Isle of Man Government to comment.
