Public support will keep high street alive says Manx retailer

Some big brands at risk of leaving Douglas

A Manx retailer says it's public support that will keep the high streets alive on the Island.

It comes as jobs at Burton, Dorothy Perkins, and Wallis in Douglas are under threat.

The brands were bought out of administration by Boohoo but physical stores aren't included in the £25 million deal.

Chris Blacher is the managing director of Jac Stores which has outlets in Castletown, Douglas and Ramsey:

Wallis,on Duke Street, is open today but it's not yet clear whether Dorothy Perkins or Burton will follow suit.
