Campaigners for the refurbishment of the Queen's Pier in Ramsey will be hoping for good news in the new year as the select committee reaches the next stage in its deliberations.
The pier has been the subject of much debate over the last 20 years - but very little action. Most people agree it's an asset for the island, but finding someone to take responsibility for its upkeep is proving much more difficult.
Ramsey MHK Anne Craine says that's partly because it was never built as a 'pleasure' pier, although she's convinced that IF it's repaired, plenty of uses will soon become apparent:
RPU will be 'out in force' to stop drink and drug drivers
Ramsey Commissioners to spend more than £8k on deckchairs and storage unit
How to spot the signs of domestic and elder abuse this Christmas
Police appeal to parents after party of up to 50 young people 'becomes an issue'
