Hopes to reopen in 2022
The team hoping to restore an Island landmark to its former glory have hit the ground running.
Volunteers have this week begun work on the Queen’s Pier in Ramsey, 27 years after it closed to the public.
The Queen's Pier Restoration Trust has been granted a lease by pier owner the Department of Infrastructure.
It needs £1.5 million of funding to fully refurbish and reopen the 130 year-old Victorian structure by 2022.
Project manager Stuart McKenzie says it’s obvious why so many people are passionate about the project.
