Politics students from St Ninian's High School are sharpening their debating skills, after reaching the finals of a BBC competition based on the Question Time TV programme.
The A-level politics group has overcome stiff competition from more than 1,000 schools across the British Isles to reach the final fifteen.
The St Ninian's sixth formers are now planning to stage their own version of the BBC1 Thursday night political debate, in the Isle of Man later this month.
It will be judged by industry professionals and the four winning teams will work behind the scenes on a live Question Time programme in July.
Year 12 students Chris Holmes and Jessica Worringham say the project has brought the subject alive (first part of audio file):
Politics teacher Liam Core says getting so far in the competition is a big achievement (second part of audio file):
The St Ninian's live Question Time debate is on March 31 at Douglas Youth Centre, from 6.30pm.
