The leader of the Liberal Vannin Party is raising the issue of political pressure being brought to bear in Manx courts.
Peter Karran has two questions tabled on the issue in this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
In a recent court case involving former tycoon Trevor Baines, his wife and their former advocate Jenny Holt, prosecutor David Farrar QC made it known the Attorney General's Chambers was seeking custodial sentences to send a message to the international community the Isle of Man is tough on financial crime.
Whilst the Baines' received custodial sentences, Holt was given a suspended prison sentence for handling some of the money.
East Douglas MHK Chris Robertshaw has already expressed concern about the matter, suggesting it was meddling for political ends.
Now Mr Karran says he wants to get the facts straight.
