Quiet day in House of Keys

Questions on telephone masts and reception

The House of Keys sits again this morning (Tue 1st).

Proceedings begin at 10AM; meanwhile the Legislative Council sits from 10.30AM.

With just eight questions tabled for oral reply, a further one for written reply and no other business to deal with, it looks set to be a quiet morning in the Keys.

Communications is under review - Ayre & Michael member Tim Baker wants to know about plans to improve telephone and internet reception in rural areas.

Later Douglas North MHK David Ashford will enquire about 'visually intrusive' telephone masts.

Elsewhere it's LibVan at the fore: Lawrie Hooper is to press Treasury Minister Alf Cannan on a spending review, and the prevalance of so-called 'tax holidays'; while Onchan member Julie Edge will ask questions about recruiting off-Island public workers.

You can listen to coverage of the Keys questions on Manx Radio's AM1368 frequency, online at manxradio.com or via our smartphone apps from 10.
