Tractor needed to tow vessel in
Ramsey lifeboat was launched yesterday (Sun) to help a small boat with two people on board.
The 16-foot vessel was returning from Peel to Ramsey and ran out of fuel approximately half a mile east of the Point of Ayre.
The Margaret Jean reached the drifting vessel just before 7.30pm and she was towed to the entrance of Ramsey harbour.
However, the lifeboat couldn't enter the harbour because of a low tide and the Ramsey RNLI's tractor had to help tow the boat to the harbour steps.
The relief all-weather Mersey class lifeboat Margaret Jean is currently in service, as the usual vessel, "Anne and James Ritchie" is currently awaiting essential engine works.
