30-year-old swore repeatedly at police officers
A Ramsey man has been fined £300 after ‘vodka hijinks’ during his thirtieth birthday celebrations.
Jason Liam Christian, of Bircham Avenue Close, repeatedly swore at - and used rude hand gestures towards – police on 3 September.
Officers had seen him ‘causing a nuisance to himself’ on the EVF forecourt just after 9pm – they spotted him again on Parliament Street and despite warnings he continued his ‘verbal abuse’.
At Douglas Courthouse Christian admitted being drunk and disorderly – behaviour his advocate described as ‘drunken capers’.
“He is embarrassed by this turn of events from his birthday celebrations,” he added.
Ordering Christian to pay £125 in prosecution costs High Bailiff Jayne Hughes also imposed a 12-month licensing ban describing his behaviour as ‘appalling’.
