Over a thousand customers affected
Manx Utilities has thanked Ramsey residents for their patience after a power outage last night (Tue).
A power system fault knocked 1,150 customers off the electricity grid at around 5:45pm - and in half an hour, the fault had been established, and a team then worked through the night to fix it.
It was caused by a failure in the North Shore substation - initiated by the rupture of switchgear; the loud noise would have been heard by people in the area.
650 households were reconnected by 6:15pm through a temporary generator - but the remaining properties remained off supply until 9pm.
