Ramsey residents 'tired' of long queues at Lloyds pharmacies

Patients sometimes queuing more than 3 hours

A severe shortage of pharmacists, and locums, across the British Isles is part of the reason for the long snaking lines at pharmacies in Ramsey.

Residents in the north have complained they're having to wait - sometimes reportedly for more than three hours - to collect their medication from Lloyds Pharmacy.

While some are successful, many say their medication is either out of stock or just not ready for collection.

Manx Care says it's aware that there continues to be issues with the provision of pharmacy services in Ramsey, and remains in daily contact with Lloyds – which operates the three pharmacies in the town – to try and support them in resolving these.

It's also in contact with Ramsey Group Practice given the ongoing impact this is also having on the staff and patients there.

Manx Care says it will meet with Lloyds this week to see what else can be done to improve the situation, and support people living in the town who continue to be impacted by this.
