Rate of sexually transmitted infections after TT fell by a quarter last year

Public Health's relaunched its safer sex campaign for 2026 festival

The number of sexually transmitted infections identified after last year's TT fell by more than a quarter compared to the year before.

That's according to Public Health Isle of Man which has relaunched its sexual health campaign for 2026.

Its slogan is "You wouldn't ride without a helmet... don't take the risk. Wear a condom."

Cabinet Office Minister David Ashford, Consultant in Public Health Ross Keat, and Ella Raine from the Manx Integrated Sexual Health Centre have been speaking to Manx Radio:

Free condoms will be available at popular TT hotspots throughout the period, and the advice being given focuses on:

• Protection from STIs and unplanned pregnancies
• Support available at MISH  
• Looking after your friends on a night out, the importance of consent, and seeking support when you need it

A number of advertising materials are also being used, including beer mats which provide more details of how to contact MISH.
