Enterprise to take off in November
Re-branding the Department of Economic Development will give it a chance to -refocus on policy and strategy, rather than on 'day-to-day' management - so says DED Minister Laurence Skelly.
Yesterday (20 Wed) he told a policy review committee the planned transformation into the Department of Enterprise won't take place until November - provided Tynwald approves the change.
The new department will no longer be responsible for the VillaGaeity complex and the Job Centre, and will divide its other functions into 4 agencies, buisness, visit, digital, and finance.
Mr Skelly says this 'agency model' will allow more focus to be given on strategic issues:
£1 million National AI Office launched to coordinate artificial intelligence policy and adoption
Confusion over cause of issues for IOM residents selling on Vinted
Peel Commissioners first to announce rate increases
Price of cod on par with sirloin steak, says chippy owner
