'Refuge Manx Rum' to come ashore from the Tower of Refuge ahead of release

20% of purchase price will be donated to RNLI

Eleven barrels of Manx Rum, which has been ageing for a year in oak bourbon casks in the Tower of Refuge, will be brought ashore in the coming days.

The special edition spirit will then be bottled at the Fynoderee Distillery in Ramsey. 

Twenty percent of the purchase price will be donated to the RNLI to raise funds during its 200th anniversary year.

The 'Refuge Manx Rum' takes its name from the iconic tower built by Sir William Hillary who founded the lifesaving charity. 

Distillery Co-founder Tiffany Kerruish says it's an exciting time:

Co-Founder Paul Kerruish added: "This historic release is the culmination of an immense amount of work put in by all of the team at the distillery over the past 18 months.  

"We have also enjoyed fantastic support from many other people and local businesses who have helped make the launch of Refuge Manx Rum possible.

"We are grateful for their support and hope that the Manx public will also support us in making this rum a true celebration of the Manx origins of the RNLI and in doing so raise further funds to help enable the incredible RNLI crews to continue to bravely save lives at sea.

"We have already raised over £10,000 for the RNLI from the sales of Fynoderee Manx Dry Gin – RNLI Edition."
