Owner praises Fire and Rescue Service for coming to their aid
A pet owner has praised the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service after officers came to her dog's aid when he became stuck between railings on Douglas promenade.
Reggie the Whippet ended up in the sticky situation during his walk last night (30 December).

In a post on social media, owner Cassi McAllister said: "We were just heading down to the beach and let him off to jump the sand bags opposite the Gaiety. He decided that rather than going straight down the steps, he would take a detour to the shelf on the wrong side of the railings.
"He then realised how high up he was, got scared and pressed his top half through the railings...and got stuck. He was slightly too big to wiggle his butt through all the way. It's was way too high for him to wiggle backwards."
Unable to free him herself, Cassi phoned the emergency services control room for advice and officers from Douglas Fire Station were quickly dispatched.
Using specialist equipment they parted the railings 'a fraction'; enough to allow Reggie to free himself.
"Absolute heroes, honestly. They really are!" - Cassi McAllister
Speaking to Manx Radio, Cassi says Reggie slept soundly last night and is unphased by the ordeal:
