Registry improvements ready to go

Almost £350,000 will be spent on renovations to the General Registry building in Douglas, after Tynwald approved the funding this week.

The aim is to create improved court facilities, with independent access for the judiciary, waiting areas and advocates' meeting space within the existing buildings.

There will also be remodelling of part of the ground floor at Murray House on Mount Havelock, to relocate certain legal aid and tribunals staff from the registries building

The project is earmarked to start early next month and is due to be completed by the end of May.
