Relatively quiet New Year for police

Only minor incidents reported

Police say there was nothing 'out of the ordinary' during new year's eve celebrations on Thursday.

Extra officers had been deployed in key areas across the Island from 5pm as police continued their Christmas clampdown on drink driving.

Operations Sergeant for the central policing team, Gavin Callow, says despite it being traditionally a night for lots of people to head out celebrating . .  it was relatively quiet for them . .
