The Chairman of Ramsey Commissioners is welcoming news the Manx Electric Railway will be operating in the town this year.
Mary Bruce says the reopening of the track between Laxey and Ramsey is a great relief.
Last month it was announced by the Department of Tourism that the service would be suspended because of concerns about the safety of part of the line.
But that decision was reversed following a debate in Tynwald yesterday, when the court agreed to spend nearly £5 million pounds on getting one of the tracks up and running.
The service will resume in July, but Mrs Bruce says it is a shame they will miss the June tourists (audio file attached):
