Religious celebration at St John's

There's a chance to see the story of the Nativity told in an unusual setting, at St John's this evening.

Following the success of last year's inaugural 'Christmas on the Hill', Tynwald Hill will again provide the stage for the show.

Over 2,000 people turned up for the 2008 event, when a few hundred were expected.

And Manx Radio's religious affairs correspondent Judith Ley says the organisers have learned a lot from what happened twelve months ago (play audio file):

'Christmas on the Hill' starts at 4.30pm.

To accommodate the performance and the expected crowds, the main road through the village will be closed from the entrance to the arboretum car park to its junction with Station Road, between 3.30pm and 6pm.
