Remand for men accused of trafficking £250K of cannabis to Island

Allegations centre around 14 kilos of the Class B drug

Two men accused of being involved in trafficking a quarter of a million pounds worth of drugs to the Island have been remanded at the Isle of Man Prison.

Christopher Joseph Parker, of Fairfield Avenue in Onchan, and Bilal Moghal - of Jennison Close in Manchester - appeared at Douglas Courthouse today via live link from the Isle of Man Prison.

Mr Parker, who’s 43, has been charged with four offences including being unlawfully concerned in the production of cannabis and two counts of possession of the class B substance with intent to supply.

He’s also been charged with possessing more than £33,000 in criminal property.

Mr Moghal, who’s 62, has been charged with unlawfully producing cannabis, supplying drugs and obstructing police.

The offences – which are said to focus around more than 14 kilos of cannabis - are alleged to have been committed on 2 and 3 September.

There was no application for bail for Mr Moghal – an application for bail for Mr Parker was refused; both men will next appear in court on 22 September.
