Vessel safely towed to harbour after voyage from Isle of Arran

A crew from Peel RNLI station were called out over the weekend to assist with a RIB which found itself in difficulty whilst travelling to the Island from the Isle of Arran.

The shout came in at around 10:30pm, with the vessel's last recorded position being eight nautical miles north of the western town.

Under the command of Coxwain Chloe Spooner, in what marked her debut shout, the lifeboat reached the RIB and its three passengers within 17 minutes.
The boat was towed back to Peel Harbour where a shore crew were ready and waiting to assist.

The RNLI is reminding pleasure boat owners to ensure they take the time to check their vessel, equipment and fuel supply before setting off.
