Gov't promises replacement by spring 2021
Work to remove the Manx Electric Railway sign at Derby Castle is underway.
It's being taken down letter-by-letter by two cranes, because the supporting frame has corroded, and needs to be removed before winter for safety reasons.
The sign's been there since 1993 when the MER celebrated its centenary.
Government has promised a replacement will be put up next spring at the start of the 2021 railway season.
