Fifty-year-old power station to be decommissioned
Manx Utilities will explore renewable energy options for the Isle of Man "in the next couple of decades."
Chairman Dr Alex Allinson was speaking following the announcement that Ramsey Power Station is soon to be decommissioned.
It was set up almost 50 years ago - running concurrently with similar plants in Pulrose and Peel.
He says it's all part of a movement towards different, cleaner energy sources in the future:
CoMin making 'significant and determined efforts' to implement recommendations from Ranson review
Rain events 'difficult to forecast' on the Isle of Man
Planning permission granted for 26 industrial units
Port St Mary Commissioners urging residents not to 'struggle in silence'
