Chairman of Castletown Comissioners Kevin Weir has restated his objection to a new license in the town.
Roy Tilliard, owner of Callows Yard is hoping Tesco will take a plot in the complex - which would include alcohol sales.
However, the board voted against the plan on the grounds there are already too many licenses in Castletown.
Mr Weir said the decision was taken properly and he'll respect the licensing courts decision.
