Manannan to operate overnight sailings
Repairs are continuing to the Ben-my-Chree after the vessel suffered a cylinder head problem.
But she is not going to be repaired in time to depart Heysham tonight (Sunday).
Manannan has been brought in to cover the Ben’s scheduled evening sailing to Heysham and will now depart Douglas at 10.45pm (latest check in will be 9.45pm) with the overnight return due to depart Heysham on time at 2.15am.
As the sailing will be operated by the Manannan, she is expected to arrive back in Douglas at 4.30am.
Steam Packet Company chief executive Mark Woodward said: ‘We apologise to our passengers whose travel plans have been disrupted as a result of this unfortunate incident. We will do all we can to minimise the disruption and to get services back to normal as soon as possible.’
