Police confirm a 34-year-old man has been arrested

A Manx resident was flown to the UK last night after being injured in a road traffic collision in Onchan.

It happened on Harbour Road at 7.45pm on 25 February.

Police say they are continuing to investigate the incident to determine how the 29-year-old sustained his injuries.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of his involvement and is currently being detained whilst enquiries continue.

Temporary Chief Inspector Neil Craig said: “We would like to appeal to any members of the public who may have been in the area of Harbour Road, last night between 7pm and 8pm, and who feel they may have any information which may assist us to please make contact with us as soon as possible.

“We are also directly appealing for anyone who may have seen a man in the area who was wearing orange / red shorts and a black baseball cap, and from anyone who may have vehicle dash camera footage, CCTV footage or ring doorbell footage from between these times.”

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Headquarters on 631212 or Crimestoppers.

Members of the public are being asked to ‘refrain from speculation’ whilst officers ‘work to fully establish the facts of what has occurred’.
