McGuinness and Cowell elected in Ramsey
Juan McGuinness and Robert Cowell have been elected as MHKs for Ramsey.
The number of votes cast was 2801; there were seven spoilt papers.
The turnout in Ramsey was 43.94 percent.
The six people who stood for election in the constituency were:
- Robert Cowell - 1395 - ELECTED
- Nigel Dunmore - 162
- Lawrie Hooper - 489
- Juan McGuinness - 1703 - ELECTED
- Janine Shimmin - 325
- Peter Whiteway - 1218
The result means former MHK Lawrie Hooper, who was seeking re-election, has lost his seat.
