The founder of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution will be commemorated in the Island on Sunday.
Sir William Hillary moved to Douglas in 1808 and founded the institution as a charity in 1824.
On Sunday afternoon, he'll be remembered at the annual service in his memory at St George's Church in the town centre.
Deputy Governor Deemster Doyle will lay a wreath at Sir William's tomb in front of a large congregation of RNLI supporters and local dignitaries. The service at 3pm is open to all.
