Road users are 'gambling with lives'

Police are asking motorists to be aware of the Island's electric trams and steam trains after reports people are ignoring level crossings.

The Roads Policing Unit and the Public Transport Division say the problem is particularly acute at the Bungalow, on the Mountain Road.

Transport Division spokesman Richard Little says bikes and cars have been ignoring the trams and racing over the crossings.

Inspector Mark Britton of the Roads Policing Unit says people need to take extra care on the roads during TT and people are gambling with the lives, including their own.
