Road works which the Department of Transport announced as having started at the weekend have been put back seven days.
Yesterday morning, commuters travelling to work in Douglas were told Lord Street had become one-way, in the out of town direction, and that the arrangement would remain until August while major improvements were being carried out.
However, with part of nearby Circular Road closed for demolition work, highways officials have decided to keep Lord Street open, to ease congestion in the area.
The DoT says it is in contact with the demolition contractors, and Circular Road will re-open as soon as possible.
The road works in Lord Street will now start this coming Sunday, June 28.
