Ronaldsway re-opens; schools decision due later

The Island is reverting back to normal after the overnight snow.

Ronaldsway Airport re-opened at lunchtime and most of the Island’s roads are now passable with care.

Six major routes will stay shut, however, until further notice, namely the Mountain Road, Beinney Phott, Tholt-y-Will, Lhergy Cripperty, East Baldwin road and Druidale.

Education chiefs say they will make a decision late afternoon on whether Island schools will re-open tomorrow (Tuesday).

A number of bus services have now resumed – the full list of what’s running is on manxradio.com – while Noble’s Hospital has been forced to postpone some operations. Again, a list of what services are running and what’s not is on manxradio.com

Airport director Anne Reynolds is hopeful for a disruption free afternoon.
