Rutter romps home in 350cc Classic TT

Victor's decisive win in delayed race

Michael Rutter has romped to victory in the 350cc Classic TT.

Dan Cooper fought hard to close in on Rutter over the first two laps, gaining the lead by more than a second going into the final lap, before he retired at Ballacraine.

Problems with the radio systems used by marshals meant the start was delayed by almost four hours until 2pm - and the race was reduced to from four laps to three.

2014 winner Lee Johnston was also amongst the retirees as Rutter aboard a Honda, finished more than a minute faster than nearest competitor Phil McGurk, also racing a Honda.

Doug Snow rounded-off the top three for Ducati.

In perfect conditions, only four of the 15 fastest qualifiers finished the race.

Rutter took the chequered flag in the Okells-sponsored race in an overall time of 1:06:51.993, with his last lap the fastest of the race.
