
The head of the Roman Catholic church in South Africa has begun a three day visit to the Isle of Man.
The Archbishop of Durban Cardinal Wilfrid Napier will meet senior catholic figures in the Island and hold mass at St Mary's in Douglas on Wednesday evening.
On a visit attracting near Head of State status, His Eminence will meet the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister.
Cardinal Napier has business links with the Island: Isle of Man Post Office administers his fund-raising project's entire European mail.
Previously, charity donations sent via mail boxes and shipped over in sacks was tampered with en route.
Local businessman Paul Davis has organised the visit.
He says the Manx post office's mail processing capability has provided a secure solution to a serious problem:
