Sandie Hannay the first to receive vaccine

Coronavirus rollout starts on Island

Sandie Hannay has become the first person on the Island to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

The 55-year old works as a senior residential support officer at the Learning Disability service.

Frontline health and care staff who work with the vulnerable, plus DHSC staff with underlying health issues, are in the first priority group for inoculation.

The 975 Pfizer vaccines are being given at a hub created in the former Ward 20 at Newlands on the Noble's Hospital site.
