Santon woman denies VAT evasion

Husband fails to appear in court again

A Santon woman has pleaded not guilty to being involved in VAT evasion worth £4.3 million.

Patricia Moore and her husband, John, of Meary Voar, run Sheraton Ltd.

It's alleged they didn't pay VAT between June 2010 and February 2015.

The pair were due to appear together at the Court of General Gaol Delivery, but only Mrs Moore showed up.

No reason was given for Mr Moore's absence this time, and he was not represented in court.

He has failed to appear at previous hearings, but has said he couldn't go on medical grounds.

The date of the next hearing is 6 August.
