School and childcare situation being reviewed by CoMin

Education Minister Dr Alex Allinson MHK

20 new cases of Covid-19 in people aged 10 - 14

The Council of Ministers is urging people to keep children at home and away from playgrounds.

They're still reviewing the situation relating to schools and early years settings.

Education Minister Dr Alex Allinson MHK has said 'For now home is the safest place for children'.

The continued plea comes as 20 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in people aged 10 - 14.

On Friday, all the Island's schools, nurseries and childminders closed in an attempt to limit the spread of Covid-19.

Government says 'work is ongoing' to find childcare options for the children of critical workers.
