'Difficult to get meaningful data' across the Island
The education minister says she doesn't believe school league tables would be helpful in the Isle of Man context.
On Manx Radio's Mannin Line programme Daphne Caine argued parents don't want to send their children to a school out of their area.
But back in 2018 in her role as Children's Champion, Mrs Caine said she believed parents had the right to know how Manx primary schools were performing against UK benchmarks.
That was the opinion echoed by Mannin Line caller David, who has long campaigned for league tables on the Island.
Today, Mrs Caine argued it's very difficult to get meaningful data to be able to build tables in the first place:
