Search dogs being used to help find missing 81-year-old

CCTV captured Mr Lee on a bus on Thursday

People urged to stay away from South Barrule Plantation

Police say they are still ‘urgently looking’ for a man from Douglas and are now focusing their efforts around a plantation in the south of the Island.

Eighty-one-year-old David Lee was reported missing yesterday (15 July) – officers say they are concerned for his welfare due to his health conditions.

Mr Lee was last seen getting off a bus in Foxdale at 1.30pm on Thursday (14 July) and walking towards the direction of Ballamodha which would entail passing South Barrule Plantation.

Search efforts have been focused on that area since last night and members of the public are being asked to stay away from it whilst ‘scent sensitive dogs’ are in the area ‘tracking’.

Anyone who sees Mr Lee – who’s described as being white, 5ft 2 in height and wearing some form of hat – is asked to call 999 or Police Headquarters on 631212.

The Isle of Man Constabulary says it is not ruling out sightings elsewhere and adds it appreciates the public’s help and will keep people informed of developments or assistance it requires.
