Nominations open until Friday
Douglas could go to the polls in a month's time, with a by-election looming for the Council.
The authority is seeking to fill a vacant seat in the town's Derby ward, after Ferdinand Pabellan stepped down last month on health grounds.
Council Leader David Christian admits turnout in previous by-elections has been 'disappointingly low', and has urged residents to 'exercise their right to vote'.
Nominations are now open for the seat until Friday, 13 July.
If more than one is received, the poll will take place on Thursday, 9 August.
