Second round of meetings in Big Debate

If you missed-out taking part in the government's Big Debate, there's a chance to get involved next month.

Four meetings have been held around the Island for invited audiences, to explain current challenges facing the Manx government.

Policy and Reform Minister Chris Robertshaw promised public meetings on the same theme, open to everyone, would follow.

Two dates have been set in December: Tuesday 2nd at the Manx Museum in Douglas and Thursday 4 December at QE11 High School in Peel.

The format will mirror the first round of Big Debates.

Mr Robertshaw will give a presentation on the size and cost of government and modernising the welfare state, before presenting the audience with a question or statement and a choice of responses to vote on.

Both next month's meetings start at 7.30pm with seats and handsets allocated on a first-come, first served basis.
