Popular concerts draw to a close

Eastern Young Farmers have been crowned winners of this year’s Young Farmers’ Concert with their Wizard of Oz-themed performance ‘There’s No Place Like Home’.

It’s the second year in a row the Eastern Club has beaten off competition from the other three clubs to take the top honours.

Eastern also took the awards for the best dance routine and best individual performer in the entire concert, which went to Paul Watterson, who played Toto the dog.

Central Young Farmers were placed second, with the Southern and Northern Clubs in joint third.

Eastern's chair, Tori Leece, says it's all been a bit of a rush this year: (play audio)

Manx Radio will have a full round-up of the results, and chats with some of those taking part in the concert, in a special edition of Countryside with Simon Clarke and Kirree Kermode this Tuesday at 5.30pm.
